Shawn, the esteemed host of The Above The Bar Podcast, stands as a testament to the transformative power of discipline, curiosity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Shawn embarked on a formidable journey in 1994, enlisting in the Marine Corps. Over two decades, he served in diverse capacities—from a Motor T Mechanic and Avionics specialist on CH53 Helicopters to a Career Recruiter—each role honing his precision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Transitioning from the structured world of the Marine Corps, Shawn carried forward his vast skills and work ethic into civilian life. He impacted the railroad industry for eight years and then enhanced the business development domain of the largest staffing firm in the North Country of NY. His ability to adapt and lead in varying environments showcased his versatility and his innate capability to inspire growth and innovation wherever he went.

The culmination of Shawn’s journey from a dedicated serviceman to a visionary in the business world is his venture into entrepreneurship. Drawing upon the wealth of skills, knowledge, and training acquired across his varied career, Shawn has crafted a new path as an entrepreneur, channeling his innate curiosity and leadership into a venture entirely his own. This curiosity, a driving force behind his actions, led to the creation of The Above The Bar Podcast—a platform dedicated to exploring the essence of what makes people great.
